IT Transforming Health Care

The 5th Annual WMU-HCoB IT Forum

Welcome

Welcome to the 5th annual WMU-HCOB IT Forum, IT Transforming Health Care. The issues surrounding health care are at the forefront of local, state, and national agendas. This forum provides a unique opportunity to explore how the technology of today and tomorrow will help resolve some of the challenges health care is facing. I urge you to engage fully in today’s program. Take this opportunity to connect with IT professionals and explore new and innovative ways to use the knowledge presented. Most importantly, enjoy the program!

In this age of constant change in technology, it becomes imperative that both the academic sector and the private sector reach out to one another in order to remain up to date.  Western Michigan University has been an innovator in this area, especially with the introduction of the wireless campus and the student laptop initiative.  In order to achieve success in these areas, we are especially thankful for the constant encouragement we have received from the private sector.  This WMU-HCoB IT Forum, now in its fifth year, is one such example of the meeting between town and gown.  We encourage you to use this Forum as a source of networking and updating of our skills in the vital area of information technology.
